Eats and Treats at the Fall Festival

Where does food come from?

If you trace it back to the source, all food comes from farms.

But at Barton Hill Farms, we’re not serving your granddaddy’s farm fare. We’ve brought some new and exciting eating and drinking options to the farm’s Fall Festival this year. We can’t wait to share them with you!

Barton Hugel Apfelwein & Biergarten

Looking for fun things to do in the Austin area with your (adult) friends? Eager to get away from the city and enjoy the outdoors? The Barton Hugel Apfelwein & Biergarten has your name written all over it.

This 2,000 square foot beer garden is the most laid back place on the farm. Fresh greenery hangs from the steel rafters overhead, and a vine wall growing hop vines turns the space into a sweet oasis. Sip a cold one and watch the Colorado River flow by.

A remodeled snow cone trailer from the 1960s will serve as the tap wall, complete with classic white wall tires for a little extra panache.

On tap, enjoy Altstadt Kölsch from Fredericksburg, a light, refreshing German brew. We’ll also have a rotating local Oktoberfest beer on draft, coming from some of Austin’s best brewers. Prost!

For ciders, we’ll be serving Austin Eastciders Original Dry Cider, which is light and crisp — not overly sweet like some ciders. We’ll also have their Blood Orange Cider, which combines Italian blood oranges with tangy apples for a citrusy sipper.

Also around the farm, we’ll have domestic cans and “La Vida” Sangria, a frozen sangria slush. And of course, there will be plenty of water, lemonade, apple cider, and iced tea.

Chow Time

Ready for a snack? You’ll want to come hungry, because we’ve got some tasty treats in store.

This year at the Fall Festival, we’re unveiling a brand new in-house menu. Visit the Fry House for hand-dipped chicken tenders, French fries, and carnival-style funnel cakes. Over at Johnny’s Pizza, we’ll have personal cheese and pepperoni pizzas, plus fresh green salads for a lighter option.

And the jewel of the Barton Hill Farms food program? The brand new Smokehouse & Grill. We’ll have all-natural 100% beef burgers and applewood-smoked pulled pork sandwiches to keep you full and happy during your visit to the countryside. If you can’t decide between a burger and pulled pork…why not both?

The Craig is the “all-you-can-meat” sandwich for the hungriest folks. Two all-natural beef patties and tender pulled pork, layered on a toasted bun and topped with char-grilled jalapeños. Yum!

If you’re feeding a crowd, there will be family meal deals available at all of our food stands. And for those in search of a little nibble, look for kettle corn, potato chips, and hand-dipped ice cream bars to satisfy your cravings.

We know that everyone is on the hunt for fun things to do in the Austin area, but they still want to Play Safe. So to prevent overcrowding and leave plenty of space at the Barton Hill Farms Festival, attendance this year will be by reservation only.

That means all tickets must be purchased in advance!

When you buy your tickets, you can either book the date and time of your visit right away, or you can wait to select your date and time when the festival gets closer. But remember, some time slots will sell out, so don’t wait too long!

To make transactions move more quickly and efficiently, and to maintain a safer environment, we’ve gone cashless on the farm this year. To learn more about this new policy, check out our Cashless FAQ
